Your business can succeed - just follow the website rules
By Lacey Ackerman
These days, whether you are starting a business or currently own one, you have to make sure your company has it's own website. A website is the key element to success, and many small business owners need to accept that fact. Once you've decided to take this step, you'll then need to form a relationship with your visitors, with strong communication. Here are some things you must consider for your website:
-
Simple Navigation
You will immediately lose a customer's interest if they cannot figure out how to navigate through your site. An easy solution would be to reduce clutter or unnecessary information that takes up space on the homepage. -
Sticky Content
Add something to your homepage that might attract a customer; something that will bring them further into your site. For example, some "sticky content" could be a featured item, an exciting press release, or the most recent article from your blog. -
Blog
Blogging can show leadership. It will show that you know the industry you are in and will give customers more confidence in your product. And Search Engine Optimization (SEO) never hurts either. -
Reviews
Testimonials are great to have. You need to build credibility to earn trust from other potential customers. Encourage reviews from your clients. -
Call to Action
Make sure visitors to your site know what to do next. They are interested in your product - what should they do next? You want them to call? Make your phone number prominent and easy to find. You want them to shop? Include a "Buy Now" or "Add to Cart" button. Whatever it might be, make sure your call to action is clear and easy to find.
So there are some things to think about. These items will help you achieve the reputation you want for your company. Make sure visiting your website is an enjoyable experience and give your customers the information they are looking for. It will pay off in the end.
