Here is a site I could spend hours on. It's a collection of info graphics and animations about our world's history of wars, religion and more. You can see literally how democracy has spread across the globe, or see how religion has developed, or learn more about the happenings in Darfur. Some are simple, and some are really elaborate flash animations you can interact with. Fun to play with and learn something. There is also an area where you can download these maps for your own use.
