Designing business cards is an art. They are an essential part of every company. Before you leave the office for a meeting or networking event, you immediately grab a small stack of cards and place them neatly in your wallet. Even if you rarely attend networking events, it’s always good to have a few on hand. At one point or another, you will invariably see a “drop-box” of some sort at a restaurant or store saying, “Drop your business card in the bin and win a FREE lunch (movie, computer… etc.)!” It’s not like I ever win any of these raffles, but it’s always nice to wish. Everyone likes to win free things, hence, the reason why it’s always good idea to carry business cards!

Anyone starting a business can just place their information in the required forms and have business cards delivered to their doorstep the next day. Some people are happy with this. Others realize the importance of a nicely designed business cards that stand apart from generic, templated designs. This is why I find the site, CardObserver so incredibly refreshing. This site is dedicated to displaying beautiful, unique business cards. Designers have the option of submitting their business cards to the site and have users comment on what they like and don’t like. The site is also a great source of design inspiration. The pieces in the gallery are definitely some of the best business cards I’ve seen in a while.
