8 Faces Magazine Launch
By: Casey Knox
8 Faces magazine is a typographical magazine which asks the question "If you could only use eight typefaces for the rest of your life, which would you chose?" They pose this question to eight leading designers from the fields of web, print, illustration and type design. This is more then just a magazine it is a labour of love for the creators and a piece of art history if you ask me. It is perfect bound, 76 pages, each article showcase the fonts and designs elegantly and it comes in a hard cardboard cover. There are only 4 page of advertisements kept all neatly in the back so as not to disrupt the read. Its half the price of other design magazines in an attempt to make it accessible to all. What more could you ask for.
It will be released bi-annually once in the summer and
once around the holidays. Because of this they are not giving out
subscriptions the first issue in hard copy is already sold out and they haven't even shipped yet. It sold out in preorder only 2 hours after becoming available and I can see why. It is simply gorgeous. For all those who missed out on ordering the real thing they are selling PDF downloads.
