Will a junk food makeover for baby carrots influence how we eat?
By Lacey Ackerman
Ever mistake a bag of carrots for a bag of cheese doodles? Well you might; carrot growing companies have decided to change the design of their packaging to appear more colorful, cool, and even unhealthy. You'll actually see them labeled "junk food." This is the true test: Can the design of a package truly influence us to eat healthier? There's no harm in trying. The new marketing strategy called the "eat em like junk food" campaign was created by ad agency CP+B. They've come up with three new package designs. It looks to me as if there's one directed towards kids, one towards women, and another towards men (this one reminds me of the Wheaties FUEL box).
Being that the campaign has launched yesterday, we'll have to wait until we see results. In the meantime, I recommend visiting the interactive site, BabyCarrots.com.
