Triscuit redesigns their packaging and by doing so catches my eye again
By William Levins
It's been a long while since I've bought Triscuits, even though I like them. I can't really say why I haven't bought them, but I can say why I recently purchased them. Their newly designed packaging caught my eye, and the photography made them look yummy.
New Triscuit Packaging Hits A Home Run With This Consumer
The new packaging (left) next to the old packaging – there's no comparison
Triscuits have never been known as a "tasty" cracker - though I enjoy them. They've always had a more healthy-living spin to them. But the new packaging, and especially the photography, make them look deliciously delectable. Well this, and they now have far more flavor options than the original - some which sound and probably are definitely less healthy.
What caught my eye originally was the floor graphic in front of the shelf. Floor graphics are still relatively rare and in the supermarket they can call attention to a product quickly. And this one did just that. When I saw it, I thought, what's a girl holding a plant for in the cracker isle? And so I looked more closely - saw it was for Triscuits, and then looked up. That's when I admired the new packaging....and hearkened back to my youth, where every holiday gathering featured cheese on Triscuits. And so I picked up a new box and put it in my cart.Rebranding - Mission Accomplished!
They've recaptured an old customer and increased sales by one unit. Sure it's not much, but I'm confident I'm not the only one that rekindled their taste for Triscuits, nor am I alone - I'm sure the new packaging and new campaign has garnered a few new Triscuit eaters. They just look better on the box. The photography and food styling make them look like the perfect accompaniment or carrier for fancy hors d'oeuvres. And the new flavors certainly offer variety and new taste options for those not fond of the original flavor.
