How is it that Tim Burton's dark, twisted work has brought light into our lives?
By Lacey Ackerman
The director, writer and artist, Tim Burton, has created some of the most dark, sinister films; most of which are box office hits. Growing up I had the honor of enjoying some of his best works, such as Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas and more. Today we can appreciate some of his more recent films: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and Alice in Wonderland (which I have yet to see).Even with all movies aside, his fine art can still be just as fantastic. From November to June the MOMA held a Tim Burton exhibit, which showcased a good variety of his collection, displaying in chronological order, starting from his grade-school drawings.
If you missed the opportunity to visit the exhibition, I still suggest you visit the site; and make sure you check out the "Behind the Scenes" videos, which shows you how they created the elements that made this exhibition magnificent.
