The Sparkling, Green Eyed Elaine - Another Tasty Cocktail Recipe

By William Levins
Last night's dinner was simple sloppy joes - a tasty, quick meal, but one that's tough to match with a cocktail. Sure, we could have gone with beer, but that's counter to our tradition.

So there I was, looking through cocktail recipe books looking for a good match...and well, nothing was seeming right. So I decided to go for it and wing it again. Perhaps it isn't the perfect match for sloppy joes, but I think I've stumbled upon another fine cocktail which I believe is original. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you.....

The Sparkling, Green Eyed Elaine

Mix in cocktail shaker over ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into cocktail glasses (makes two). Then add a splash of cold Ginger Ale to top off each glass. Serve with a garnish of lime.
  • 3 oz Absolute Citron
  • 1 oz Midori Melon Liqueur
  • 2 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime
  • Ginger Ale (a splash)
