Hopping On Board the jldcreative Team

By Lacey Ackerman
So here I am, as the newb at jldcreative. First, I would like to take the time to introduce myself...my name is Lacey. I could go into my graphic design background and how I've become a member of the jldcreative team, however, I will leave that up to you, as you can view those details on my bio page. The blog I will try to save for more interesting things. Things that I know both you and I may be interested in, as a designer, a client, or just because we are human. Prior to my first day here at jld, I received an email with a simple list of what to expect in my first week. And surely enough, one task was my first blog post ("Yup, you'll have to do one," I believe were the exact words.) Now I can imagine many would grunt and groan upon reading these words, but oddly enough, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to introduce myself and form quick and strong bonds with co-workers, clients and anyone else who may entail as audience. What once was just a teen past-time, now has a large advantage in the corporate world, as does all forms of social marketing. I look forward to sharing thoughts, ideas, input, opinions, etc.

Speaking of my personal thoughts and opinions, I'd like to bring up something totally off-topic, but definitely exciting for you designer/animation gurus. "Avatar." First off, if you haven't seen it, please do. The movie will knock your socks off. The animation was phenomenal. I immediately searched for "Avatar" in one of my favorite Firefox features, stumbleupon, for you can usually find the most intriguing sites on any topic. I found an interesting video that shows the making of each Avatar character. WETA Digital, of New Zealand, is responsible for the creation of the beautiful world of Pandora. Although 3/4 of the film is said to be computer generated, it appears strikingly real.
