Five must-have apps for travel
By Lacey Ackerman
The end of June is near, which means my camping/road trip to Asheville, NC is approaching. I'd say around the 4th hour is when the restlessness and fidgeting kicks in, and I imagine that many of you can relate. The Apple iPhone is the perfect gadget to set myself at ease. As we all have figured out by now, you can download an app for almost anything. But for the purpose of this blog entry, I'm going to focus on my top favorite apps specifically for traveling. - CardShark - A Must; not only for use in traveling, but also in life. This app supports over 30 types of card games, including solitaire, poker, blackjack, memory match, and much more.
- Pandora - Your own personalized radio...start by selecting the name of your favorite artist or song, and a station will be created, with similar music to that genre.
- Words with Friends - basically this is the exact same as Scrabble. You can play any other opponent who has the app, whether it be friends or strangers.
- Flashlight - Simple, but necessary. Especially for camp sites with no electricity after 9:00pm.
- Urban Spoon - This app will recommends restaurants in the area.

Ah, what about some other really, really important apps. Like: U.S. Army Survival Guide, or SAS Survival Guide, or wikiHow: How to and DIY survival kit, or perhaps the Emergency Aid ( first aid) app.
