Eco-Friendly Coke Can?

By Christina Smith
Almost everyone is "going green". From single individuals to large companies, people are embracing the idea of saving the environment one step at a time. Just listen to this fact from GoGreen.com:

Recycling 1 ton of paper saves:
17 mature trees, 7,000 gallons of water, 3 cubic yards of landfill space, 2 barrels of oil, and 4,100 kw hours of electricity (enough to power a home for 5 months).

Harc Lee
, a New York designer, famous for his innovative product and industrial design created a colorless eco friendly Coca Cola can. Lee stripped the iconic red from Coke's original can and designed a product void of toxic paints that are typically used to color aluminum. The convex logo is used for brand identity in place of the typical white logo. According to Lee, the colorless can "makes for a decrease in air pollution, water pollution and the energy required to create the paint."

I personally think the colorless can is more attractive than the iconic red can. It's sleek, modern, and polished. However, I tend to be attracted to clean, simple design. What's your opinion?
